Tin Heart is an amazing novel by Shivaun Plozza, who created (in my opinion) a must read book, something you would not want to miss. When I started reading the book i had never read anything from the author or what the book was about, I just started reading it and the ending was not a regret/5.

To keep their friendship alive during the Civil War, Flora and Mahaley each hold one half of a tin heart once worn as a necklace. Michael Hays's full-color paintings embellish the pages of Karen Ackerman's story in a book rich with historical detail, yet timely with contemporary concerns/5.

Tin Heart by Shivaun Plozza was a sweet story of survival. I enjoyed the book immensely. With a quirky cast of characters and a headstrong protagonist, Tin Heart has all the makings of a re-readable read.

The story was bittersweet. There were sweet moments interwoven with sadness. I liked the interactions between Leo, the butcher, and Marlowe/5(8).
